Word Study Schedule

A day - Discover a pattern in the new list of words you will be studying for the school week. Take a copy of your new list home and sort your words the way you did in school.

Always be looking for words that follow the spelling pattern you're studying. Add these words to the lists of spelling patterns you have studied.

B day - Check your homework word sort in school.

C through E days - In school we will practice the new pattern you learned along with reviewing patterns you have studied in the past. Complete your word study homework but not in one night! You have to practice your words on different days so that you will remember them from now on.

E day - Hand in your word study homework.

F day - We will assess the progress you have made towards the goal of improving your spelling.

It takes a lot of practice to remember how to spell

words correctly when you're writing but the more you practice, the easier it will become!
