You will find a lot of great information here to help AH families to save energy and money while reducing carbon emissions. The local non-profit organization, Community Earth and Whole Foods Markets Madison has helped us to bring a new program to the school called, Cool the Earth. The program is a group effort run by the Fifth Grade Advisory Council, teachers and parents. Each student has received a coupon book of suggested eco-friendly actions families can take to decrease carbon emissions and help the environment. Once the coupons are complete, they can be deposited into the Cool the Earth golden box in the front hallway so that the Fifth Grade Advisory Council can track our progress. Please check out the weblinks below for Eco-Tips and Cool the Earth updates and information.
Thanks to everyone our CFL light bulb sale was a huge success. Now is the time to pick up your orders. Parents must come in and pick up the bulbs, we will not allow children to take them home on the bus, due to their fragile nature. We will have the bulbs ready for pick up on Wednesday, March 24th outside the main office, after school. If you are not able to pick them up at that time, please call Heather Dobbs (973)540-8503 to make other arrangements
Ecotip of the Month: To help you reduce your junk mail, call the 800 number on catalogs and advertisements you receive and ask to be removed from the mailing list. Also write " Please don't rent, sell or trade my name or address." on any paper you fill out for a business, raffle, questionnaire, etc. For more great tips go to http://www.ecocycle.org/junkmail/index.cfm .
