Additional Units Plan for 2007 - 2008

1.) September -
June New Jersey Unit Students will complete projects that
incorporate reading, writing, social studies and technology to learn about
the history, geography, and people of New Jersey.

2.) October - January Four Square Writing Unit Students will learn how to use the Four Square Writing Method to complete essays in the expository, descriptive, and persuasive forms. |

3.) January March
- New Jersey Ask Review Unit - Open Ended Questions, Responding to
a Poem, Writing a Narrative for a Picture Prompt, Math Missions and
Writing Explanations to Math Problems, Portfolio Writing Samples

4.) November - June Creative Writing Unit Students will use the writing process to craft personal and creative narratives. |
| 5.) September-June- Word Study and Spelling Unit Differentiated spelling - Students are assessed each week and given one of three lists. Multi-sensory phonics activities are used to improve their knowledge of word structure (EBLI & Project Read). | |
